MEET JESSE
Pugtographer, FILMMAKER
I’m Jesse - the photographer, filmmaker, and drone pilot behind most of the photos & videos on Grumble Farm. I was indoctrinated into the “Pug Life” after meeting Brandy and the Grumble and deciding to move to the West Kootenays together - never in a million years did I expect my experience photographing wildlife would lead me to capturing these little creatures we call “pugs”, but here we are. I’ve been practicing photography for almost 20 years, and have been working as a professional photographer since 2008. Aerial videography & filmmaking has been my most recent focus, and I’m passionate about creating & sharing an immersive experience of nature while exploring my surrounding landscape.
The King of Content
I’ve taken every path there is with photography; wildlife, landscapes, outdoor adventures, weddings, family portraits, and more. My passion for photography has been the one constant on my journey. The most profound discoveries I have made along the way are the compelling stories to be told of colourful characters, inspiring entrepreneurs, adventures and magical places. I’ve learned that videos are one of the most powerful marketing tools today. Attention grabbing imagery combined with storytelling shared through social media.
I was fortunate to grow up in a small town in the Rocky Mountains. Vacations were often spent camping in the West Kootenays where I now live among big mountains and big lakes. How can I even begin describing the beauty of the landscapes that surround me? Crystal-clear lakes fed by cascading meltwater amidst majestic peaks and lush green forests. Colourful sunsets and the occasional aurora are spectacular vivid delights where the stars are not diminished by light. There’s a sharpness and clarity in this wilderness amidst stillness and peace. Maybe I can describe it better with images.
There’s always been a camera in my hand and photography is my life. The learning never stops. I live for the days when I’m out there to unearth and create another beautiful image or visual story. Favorite Activities: Paddling around literally any body of water; driving down random dirt roads (most out of cell service); flying my drone around the valley; peaceful evenings spent fishing on the boat; exploring new, exciting, and abandoned places with Brandy
Future goals: Live on a piece of beautiful land to call my own; become successful enough with photography & videography so that I can focus on my own personal creative projects; make people feel all the feels with my photos and videos
Pet Peeves: Also mosquitoes; large crowds of people & the accompanying noise; never having enough hard drive space
Favorite Memory: Coming face-to-face with a wild wolf while tracking & photographing wolves in the Rockies
